Honda ‘Grom’s on the Gas’ Dates Announced

The exciting, new competition for Australia’s Junior Motocross riders is all geared up to be launched in 2008. The competition, brought to you by Honda and Lee Hogan’s BCP, will put our ‘Aussie’ junior riders to the test in four gruelling categories:

Fitness
Public Speaking
Speed on the motorcycle
Technique on the motorcycle

Official dates and locations for the inaugural running of the Honda ‘Grom’s on the Gas’ Competition are as follows:

* These dates are put aside for excessive entry numbers in certain states.

A maximum of 40 riders will be accepted to compete at each ‘2 day’ competition.

The Honda ‘Grom’s on the Gas’ concept will follow in the footsteps of the successful ‘Girls on the Gas’ Competition that has been up and running for two years now. Similar to a National series, the all new competition will head to each state of Australia and crown a winner at each stop. Each state will have a two day riding clinic conducted by Lee Hogan’s BCP Program, finishing off the second day with the competition and judging. Upon completion of all state legs, a ‘Final Showdown’ will be conducted in Victoria where all 7 state winners will go head to head and see who will be crowned the Honda ‘Grom’s on the Gas’ winner for the year.

The big winner of the Honda ‘Grom’s on the Gas’ Competition will win a host of awards consisting of:

A Factory support Honda Junior Sponsorship
A paid trip to contest the World Mini Grand Prix in Las Vegas
A years worth of coaching from Lee Hogan’s BCP
Sponsorship deals from Fox Racing, Fuchs Silkolene Oils, Dunlop Tyres, Alpinestars Boots, Pro Circuit, Dirt Action Magazine, SMG Graphics, Krooz Tune Suspension.

Event organiser Lee Hogan has just finished piecing together the finer details of the competition.

“It’s been a massive job organising everything but it’s been well worth it. We have been inundated with hundreds of emails and phone calls since launching the competition a few weeks ago with riders and families wanting to know how to enter,” said Hogan.

Carrying on with their successful association, Honda Motorcycles will head the list of sponsors as main naming rights sponsor to the competition, with Honda Brand Manager Phil Reynolds right behind the concept.

“We have been extremely happy supporting the ‘Girls on the Gas’ Competition along with Lee’s ‘Building Champions Program’ for the past two years now and can certainly see that the ‘Grom’s’ concept has massive potential to not only fly the flag for Honda, but improve the level of our juniors riders both on and off the motorcycle,” said Phil Reynolds.
