Honda 'Girls on the Gas' Heads to Hobart for Round 1

The Honda 'Girls on the Gas' Competition will head to Tasmania this weekend for the opening round of the series, to be hosted at Hobart’s ‘Cambridge Moto’.

For the last two years running Tassy girl Emily Flint has won the Tasmanian leg of the tour, giving her a seat in the 2006 and 2007 Final Showdowns. For 2008 Flint will most likely resume her arch rivalry with last years runner up Petrina Liemburg. Both girls battled down to the wire last year with Flint coming out on top by the smallest of margins.

The competition for 2008 will run on it’s previously proven format from last year which will see the girls judged in four completely different categories, including:

Speed on the motorcycle (lap time sector)
Technique on the motorcycle (category judged)
Public Speaking (category judged)
Fitness (Shuttle Run Beep Test)

The winner of each state’s leg will go on to represent their state in the ‘Final Showdown’ to be hosted in Victoria later in the year. The big winner of the Final Showdown will kickstart her career with a host of assisting sponsors for the 2009 season consisting of:
